I knew this a very long time ago. I know that I am to blame. I mean, Jeff has played a large role in this too. But I should have seen this coming. I mean, he was like this at such an early age. I should have seen the signs as each year passed us. Now, I am paying for it...
Old Soul N suffers from high self esteem.
This is killing me. Why? Because he is so damn cocky. I want to smack him around with a humble stick! It must be so tough being him... smart, good looking, extremely athletic. He already is a guys-guy and has girls "liking" him.
UGH! I'm in serious trouble.

I'm afraid my 3 1/2 year old has this disease already. She has already changed her name and refuses to be called by her given name. She's extremely popular, pretty and strong willed...not to mention blonde, athletic and sings well. I'm in trouble too. I'm glad to know that you and ResPres are 5 1/2 years ahead of the curve here and will be able to give lots of counseling as I move down this very tumultuous road.

Maybe we need to start a support group!

Ah yes, my son suffers as well. He is almost 14 and the humble stick is hitting him hard this year-first the soccer coach, then one of this teachers.
They have all told him that HE IS smart, atletic, blah blah, BUT his attitude is spoiling all of that.
By George, I think it is working.
May your son have the same non-related smackin' around!

yeah ... You're screwed. I have 2 boys in my home with that same disease. Although THEY are not the ones suffering. It is I ... their Mama who has to suffer through the quick-witted and quick-tongued comebacks and comments while laughing myself to tears.
