Today, is Cinco de Mayo. This is a celebration, a national holiday, and is celebrated in both Mexico and here in the United States. It is a celebration of the victory in the Battle of Puebla, led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguin, over the French on May 5, 1862.
So to all my friends, Mexican, Mexican American, actually anyone who wants to celebrate this joyous occasion... I say, "Feliz Cinco de Mayo!"
